Email and Anti Spam Protection
Category 4’s email servers support all standards-compliant email client programs. Configuration differs from client to client. The basic information you’ll need to set up your client is:
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.category4.com
- Outgoing Mail Server:smtp.category4.com
- Account Name: use your entire email address, for example, johnsmith@category4.com
- Password: use the password you received when you set up your account
- Our outgoing mail server requires authentication. You must configure your mail client to send your login name and password to the outgoing mail server in order to send mail. This prevents the outgoing server from being abused by people who do not have accounts with us.

Anti Spam Protection
Our mail system provides flexible anti spam filtering of inbound and outbound messages to protect user mailboxes from unsolicited and malicious email. Mail is scanned at the gateway level, before the messages are delivered to user accounts. Our customers may maintain and configure anti spam settings from our webmail client.
