  24. This is a great theme and I wish I could use it right out of the box so to speak. I’m not sure if I am not doing something right bue when I try out this theme it’s as though it’s not reading the stylesheet or somthing. I have no colors, no images and no formatting what’s so ever. I do see the youtube video but I am really not sure what I have not done right. I did as I would do with any other theme and unzip it in wp-content. Are there special instructions with this one?

    Thanks

    Chris

  69. where is the css to change the background color of the sidebar. I have looked and changed everything. Also, I can’t find where you have placed the css for the flickr and youtube logo. This is driving me nuts that I can’t find it. Please help.

  70. In the left column of the homepage there are references to ‘the_excerpt’. If you change those to ‘the_content’, it will display the whole post.

    I think the sidebar info you need is:

    #media {
    background:#103064;
    padding:16px 19px 20px 19px;
    }

  71. thanks darren-

    for the help. I got the image to post on the homepage, but I still don’t know where to place the css you gave me. Maybe I am an idiot or something but I have tried placing it under #sidebar and everywhere around it and still no luck. Sorry to keep bothering you, I know this is not your job.

  72. darren-

    I figured it out. Not all of the css is shown in wordpress. For all who don’t know and are idiots (I guess) In the probama theme folder there is a css folder in there. You can find the rest of the css in there. Again thanks darren. Be on the lookout for the theme on Thepixlpusher.com

  73. Is there a way to have ‘pages’ show up on the top nav bar? I saw a similar question above, but not sure there was a response. I am new to wordpress and haven’t been able to get anything to show up on that nav bar (categories, etc.). Do I need to change one of the php files directly? Thank you – this is a great theme!

  75. Darren-

    I am currently running the theme on a local server with wordpress 2.5 to make revisions to the css but when i try to take it over to my site with wordpress 2.3.3 everything gets messed up. I have even tried sending over the original theme and it doesn’t seem to work either.

  76. Darren-
    I was wondering if you could look at my site and see if you can figure out what might be going on. thepixlpusher.com I am using the probama theme as it was downloaded no changes made to the files. It is almost like something is blocking the css but I don’t know what. My only thought is that it is an older wp file that is messing with the css. Your thoughts would be a be help thanks. by the way I am using wp 2.5 now.

  77. Darren-
    Ok so I downloaded some other themes to see if I would have a different outcome so I started with your baseball theme and it did the same thing (just html). So I downloaded some from the wordpress site and they work perfectly fine so I think it is something in your files but I can’t figure it out. Please help I really do want to use your theme It is AWESOME.

  78. ok I think I have the same problem as Chris but I don’t understand what he did to fix it. If someone could help I would appreciate it. Thanks.

  79. John -

    Try reinstalling the theme – ie. download a fresh copy from the link above, completely delete the files on your server, and reinstall.

    That *should* do the trick. If not, let me know and I’ll try to troubleshoot your problems over email.

  82. To those having problems loading images… It’s a simple fix that stumped me for almost an hour…

    Make sure your file & folder permissions are correct. Use another theme as an example.

    I had changed permissions on all the files but NOT the probama folder itself… It was 0600 for me so when I changed it *POOF it worked…

  83. Hi guys,

    First, thanks for the theme, it looks great.
    I hate to be a bother, but I’ve been trying to figure this out, but to no avail.
    I can’t get the rss feeds to work. In the sidebar, I’ve put the rss feed url for NYT in the “Latest from BarackObama.com” section (I’ve replaced it with “Breaking News”) and I put the feed url for my blog under the Latest Audio (That I replaced with My Memoir) – but no feeds a’comin.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks so much,

    I want to thank you for the great work you have done in promoting our next president. Thank you for your help.

  85. Hi guys,

    I was wondering if it is possible to have “next and previous” pages with images instead of a few sum-up lines on the bottom of the page??

    Could you give a clue how to do that? Pretty please?

  99. I think everyone needs to look beyond the novelty of Obama.

    Personally, I think that Obama is arrogant…and this will be his downfall amongst educated, well-rounded, mature and informed American voters.

    I also believe that websites like the one listed below could ultimately determine why more and more Democrats will defect to John McCain’s camp.

    Unfortunately, there is little about Obama that a website like the one below says that can be refuted…that is, unless you’ve flunked Philosphy 101 in college,or never got to college in the first place.

    Check it out:

    http://www.chilkootmarketing.com/index.htm

    What can be done?

    Sooner or later all of us will have to reckon with our conscience and higher intellectual powers and when this occures we will invariably be forced to choose between either ‘principle’ or the physical attributes of the other candidate.

    Which candidate is traveling down the wrong road on critical issues?

    Which do you think will win out, come November? ‘

    ‘Higher principles’ or the ‘physical’ attributes of a particular candidate?

    Predictably, older voters will vote in favor of ‘principle’… obviously, because they are more concerned about what happens after death and the legacy they will leave behind.

    In contrast, the younger voters, since they have more time left in life to recant, are more likely to be reckless and procrastinate with any decision in favor of principle, and will likely vote in favor of ‘idealism’…

    …and these are the young and youthful voters that Obama appeals to and also why a lot of us older folks see Obama as ‘the Pied Piper of the niave’.

    However, (which is the next question that begs itself): ‘When does Barack’s own conscience begin to bother him?’

    Personally, I think Obama needs to start thinking about what he can do to ‘remake’ his image if he wants to win this election.

    I’m not sure that he’ll want to be that person he’s beginning to look like against John McCain…who today represents everything that America stands for.

    BUT, if Obama thinks he can win going the way he’s headed, then let him go for it.

    But, as for me and many like me who sit on the fence until election time in November, we’ll still be thinking about having to live with ourselves long after this election is over in November and maybe these are the thoughts that the new young voters haven’t entertained yet…

    …and, there’s still a lot that can happen between now and November…

    …and, this probably means that Obama faces a huge political swamp ahead…one that he has created for himself by being too impetuous on some very important issues…

    …which has already gotten him into trouble with some of the very wise old parents of the younger generation.

    - Jim Carder

  100. <-@Jim Carder

    I think you’re right that perhaps the younger generation does support Barack Obama but it has more to do with providing America with economic stability and a future as a world power through innovation and forward thinking political principles. I strongly believe it is the role of government to uphold the right of citizens to freely practice religion and nothing more. Just as I expect our government to keep their hands off our firearms for personal protection I believe they should keep their noses out of my religion. We’re electing a president and not a pope.

  104. this is an amazing theme. I have actually seen someone make over $1000 in a month with adsense by just giving information about obama but this script is way better.

  105. WOW that is a very nice theme. Some of my blogging buddies have been telling me they are making quite a good amount of income making blogs about Obama. :)

  106. I’m hispanic, and I strongly believe Obama will have a huge support from most of the minorities citizens and with no doubts he will be the first minority to get in the White House as a president of United State. I predict California, Texas, Florida and New York would be the keys for his victory to Mr. Obama in November 2008.

  107. Here’s a nifty trick to have the “latest audio” rss feed playable from the sidebar.
    In your sidebar.php file find the last “”
    Below that line paste this:

    Update the file and refresh your site.
    You’ll see small play buttons next to each rss audio title.
    Cool huh?
