  1. Hi, stumbled across this site purely on accident, and I happened to notice your little avatar there. It’s Ness! Cool picture, by the way. See ya.

  2. Not everyone – anymore. Firefox doesn’t play web-based media worth a damn. Many a time (using FF) I’ve experienced malfunctions ranging from photo galleries to order forms…and guess what? IE handles them correctly every time. As a result, I reverted back to IE as my main browser. That said, I ‘d like to agree with you; I TRIED to like Firefox for a year, but it definitely needs to be more media-friendly.

I beg to differ — I’ve never had a problem using Firefox viewing any sort of media, whether is be QuickTime, Windows media, Real streaming video, or YouTube’s flash-based videos. What type of media is FF having trouble playing? It sounds more like a computer problem than a browser issue.

IE handles them correctly every time.

There are some sites that are designed specifically for IE; some so much so that only IE can properly view them. It’s a shrinking number of sites as other browsers, especially FF, continue to grow in market share, but IE-only sites defintiely still exist. For this reason, it’s recommended to still have IE as a backup.

    I’m sorry. :(

IE7 will be coming out in the next few months, which is a definite step above 6. But ultimately, it’s still Microsoft, and they really don’t need to have a monopoly in the web browser market, do they?
